Pinwheel mirror Inspired by the children's game pinwheel when we were running freely, two blue and red pinwheels were spinning in our hands and we were delighted with this colorful and majestic spin. And I still see the dance of colorful swirls of glint towards the light, in the darkness heart.

Hamed Abbasipour draws inspiration from the centuries-old tradition of mirror art while reimagining it through a contemporary lens. Fascinated by the interplay of reflection, light, and perception, he creates modern mirror artworks that invite viewers to see themselves—and the world around them—anew. Growing up assisting his father in decorating mosques and grand buildings with intricate mirror designs, Hamed developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of mirrors. Over time, he began experimenting with modern forms and abstract compositions, pushing the boundaries of this ancient craft into the realm of contemporary art. Hamed’s creative process is hands-on and intuitive. Starting with sketches or concepts, he shapes each piece through meticulous assembly and constant refinement. Small fragments of glass are arranged to form intricate, repeating patterns, yet each design is open to interpretation, allowing each viewer to experience a unique reflection of themselves and their surroundings. His work explores contrasts—between tradition and modernity, permanence and change, the individual and collective perception—and seeks to create a dialogue between past and present. Through this approach, Hamed strives to honor the heritage of mirror art while opening new possibilities for its expression in contemporary visual culture.
