About The Artwork
Low fired earthenware sculpture to cone 04. Painted with underglazes. Drawing techniques used with underglaze pencils and underglaze sticks. Finished with a waxed surface. At the time this sculpture was created, I was working at Site Santa Fe during the Beau Monde exhibition curated by Dave Hickey. I was inspired by Ken Price's sculptures in the exhibition. I combined the cultural, historic and prehistory of Northern New Mexico with that inspiration. This sculpture was fired at Santa Fe Clay, while I was a studio member and is the only large sculpture that I have available at this time.
