ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Part of a multiple piece series called "debris by the sea" the premise was to take discarded surfboard resin from shaping/glassing houses and transform the discarded resin to create beautiful sculptures. The materials gathered come from "dump buckets" and glass room floors and contain various elements including stirring sticks, used razor blades, gum, little paint cups, candy wrappers, dirt clumps... Rescuing recycled surfite for a higher purpose. People appreciate having a sculpture that has a little bit of hundreds of surfboards in Southern California.
