Sculpture: Glass on Wood.
The object Samples is made of genuine ruby corundum in glass containers attached to a wooden bowl.
It relates to the such human activities as collecting, storing, examining etc. in short the inclination to collect, store and study the objects that are found in the environment. This inclination is specific for the human race and is one of the foundations of the science.
. . .
Samples was created as part of an installation called Matrix. Matrix consists of 16 elements that could be arranged and re-arranged whenever one feels like it. They are ordered in a 4 x 4 matrix. The common thing between all of them is that they are made from a bamboo bowl serving as a background in the widest meaning of this word. However each element is made of different additional objects to convey its unique meaning.
