Smiler 2 (Red) Sculpture

These sculptures act as a relief sculpture and painting or drawing at the same time. They are derived from thousands of drawings that the artist makes digitally on tablets, largely by stream of consciousness. Select drawings are then extruded into steel through industrial processes and painted. They are inspired by the frenetic time we live in, a call and response to never the ending visual media in our pockets. They are low in depth and do not protrude into living space, and feel like a hovering drawing.
