"Sorrow" holds the experience of my mother's death - the spirals and folds of love, grief and liberation. This is a limited edition casting 1 of 9. A mold was made from the original soft plaster sculpture. The lost wax process was used to create a hollow casting in aluminum with a blackened finish.

I work with the inherent symbolism and beauty of natural form. I sculpt with forgiving materials, guided by how all in the natural world is shaped. Creating each work is like hearing strains of a new song desiring to build to a full symphony, to discover its meaning. O'Keeffe, Arp, Moore, and Carr informed and influence me. My wall sculptures are inner landscapes. I begin by sketching in sand, moving it with no conscious subject or object in mind. I feel my way to a raw composition, refining it as I build up thin layers of plaster over the sand. A hollow skin is formed - one sturdy enough to be pulled away from the sand, then carved and modelled in turns on an easel to completion. From this a rubber mold is made. Most of my wall works are limited edition castings in aluminum or fortified plaster (duo-Matrix Neo/Dryve) or a tough blend of paper mache and moulding plaster (Aves+USG). My freestanding works are in cast bronze or hand-built concrete. I invite commissions. My original works can be reproduced in a range of materials, colors and size. I enjoy exploring form-appropriate variations to suit an intended place. Born in 1961 Toronto. I grew up tending tree nurseries and working in a landscaping family, gardening professionally for over twenty-five years. I studied sculpture, metalsmithing and art history for three years and worked as a technician in art foundries. In 1996, I became a juried member of the Sculptors Society of Canada. Later, my credits on IMdb were an unintended result of getting good at what I didn’t really want to be doing but earned me a livelihood with some downtime to sculpt. I am grateful to the many other artists, of all sorts, working in film and television.
