About The Artwork
This piece was created from a Mesquite tree burl. The burl is quite unique with branches emerging from the main body. I was careful not to remove the branches until a study was made to determine the best use of the burl. After observing the burl in all possible positions, I could see the resemblance of a spiny lobster. By carefully removing extraneous branches and bark, sanding, and adding colorful enamel paint, the expression of a spiny lobster emerged. Enjoy a bit of fancy with Spiny Lobster!
