About The Artwork

“Teardrop” is a detailed bronze sculpture of a well-dressed couple in their splendid Figoni and Falaschi Teardrop Talbot-Lago T150Css. They're enjoying a brisk drive on a dusty back road as the breeze through the open windows blows her hair around the cozy interior. Major Antony Lago bought the Talbot company, makers of durable if unexciting cars. With Lago's hotter engines, better chassis and chic bodywork, Talbot-Lago became a top name in expensive fast transportation. When a buyer purchased a top of the line automobile up into the 1940's, he bought a running chassis from the manufacturer and then had custom body builders create exactly the body he or she wanted. It was like having a tailored suit made. Joseph Figoni and Ovidio Falaschi made some of the most original and beautiful bodywork of all time and Figoni's “Teardrop” designs were the best known. Only about 18 Talbot-Lago Teardrops were built. The Sculpture “Teardrop” is an investment cast bronze sculpture with polished bronze brightwork and fitted glass windshield and rear window-very unusual for a sculpture. “Teardrop” is a numbered limited edition of ten sculptures. To date, the bronze’s have been custom made for owners of their original cars. Each Bronze is custom ordered. Bronzes take time, this particular bronze take 3 to 4 months to produce. All Posson Sculpture requires 50% deposit. Balance due prior to shipping sculpture.

Steve learned to drive on a Ford tractor, before building his own car in his teens. That first car was a 1933 Plymouth with a Corvette V8 engine – loud, fast, overheated, wouldn’t stop.. – a hot rod!! Good training for a mechanically minded artist! Steve is savy with many mediums. Creating his masters from wood, renshape, various metals and clay, his understanding of many materials has created a natural path in offering sculptures, in other materials as well. Posson Sculpture works closely hand in hand with his partner, Liselotte Bjorck Posson, creating and producing all types of awards and gift solutions for exciting events and venues.
