Ukrainian Art Sculpture Painting.

Ukrainian folk theme. Man and women, a married couple, are wearing traditional Ukrainian costumes. Man is wearing the national clothes of Ukrainian Cossacks - sharovary (trousers), wide belt, and vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt).

In Ukraine, there is a good old custom: a good guest never shows up empty-handed. This Ukrainian couple honors traditions, they came with generous gifts: a big bottle of horilka (Ukrainian home-distilled alcoholic beverage), bagels, and goose.

The artwork is made in a mixed technic as painting and sculpture. It is assembled from more than 50 elements.

To make my artworks, I use modeling clay, fabric, wood, veneer, cardboard, acrylic, gouache, tempera, watercolor, acrylic lacquer.

Irina Antonova — master of modern decorative and applied art, participant of Ukrainian, Russian, and international exhibitions. She was born on May 21, 1960, in Cheremkhovo (Irkutsk region, Russian Federation). When Irina turned 6, her parents and she moved to the permanent residence in Makeevka (Donetsk region, Ukraine). From childhood, Irina loved to draw people and illustrate books she read. So her children's hobby influenced her future creative life. Since the 1989 year, Irina makes statuettes and unique sculpted paintings in a mixed technique using modeling clay, fabric, wood, acrylic, gouache, tempera, and watercolor. Each artwork is assembled from more than fifty elements. Some compositions are created based on famous literary works and films, and others represent stories of Ukrainian, Russian, and Jewish folk. The creativity of Irina is in demand not only in Ukraine and Russia. Unique artworks spread all over the world. “I believe that everyone should bring kindness and love to the world. Through my artworks, I want to share things that are so important to me: family values, love to people, beauty and uniqueness of different cultures. Most of all I'm pleased when people say that my pictures have positive energy. My artworks are not only a beautiful home decoration, but also a talisman for happiness, well-being, and prosperity for a family.” Irina Antonova
