This Can't Be Happening Sculpture

At first, I felt this piece was referring to the conversation in the news that was focusing on the idea that some parts of the community remained covered up, and I imagined a fear of everything being covered up, as if being suffocated by an outside culture, hence the title. But the meaning changed as I as I explored my own experiences with dealing with narcissistic behaviour. So now to me, the household objects represent the home and the black tape represents complete control while the circle is referring to the never ending cycle of toxic behaviour.
