About The Artwork

This unique sculptural artwork is inspired by the organic forms of wild fungi/mushrooms thriving beautifully in nature. The tranquility in those delicate structures has been emphasized in this artwork. Each textural element of the artwork has been individually handcut and assembled together on canvas creating a 3D organic art object! Project - 'For the planet' : I started doing upcycled artworks since 2016, after a pledge to work for a greener planet. All the plastic bottles with different textures are upcycled to get unique textures on my artworks. Its my way of saving our planet. So by collecting one of my original works from this series you are indirectly becoming part of this art journey for a cause. The artwork is assembled on canvas and the texture which is 100% made from upcycled plastics, is assembled on to it. The artwork will come framed in black box frame and will be signed in front and back . Certificate of authenticity will be attached.

Swapna Namboodiri create assemblages, installations and sculptural artworks using mixed mediums including found objects and repurposed plastics. Her art practice is inextricably intertwined with sustainability. Her works often reflects the Japanese philosophy ‘Wabi-Sabi’- to embrace the beauty of imperfections. She embraces the imperfect organic shapes created by the hand-cut single-use plastics and highlights the textures in her artworks, making it a unique collectible piece of art!
