About The Artwork
Original and contemporary mosaic creativity, Tissue II- Neurons is part of the series inspired by electron microscope images of human tissues. In this case it is the image of neuronal tissue of the spinal cord. These images become object of artistic reflection due to their particular beauty: they could be abstract and contemporary works, when instead they are portraits of Humanity, because there is nothing more realistic and more figurative than the cells and tissues of which we are made. The free mosaic interpretation gives the images concreteness through the material, gives them a body. Realized using marbles, stones, Venetian Smalti, grès and reused iron wires. - Contemporary mosaic. - Marble, stones, Venetian enamels, grès and recycled iron wires. - Natural Wood frame - Equipped with hooks on the back to be hung. - 52x70x3 cm.

I am Elisa Lonetti and i'm the mind and hands of I’M - Italian Mosaic, my artistic mosaic studio. I attended the Mosaic School of Spilimbergo, where I received very high technical and artistic skills. That choice, started as an adventure has become more and more aware day by day so that “attempt” has taken shape of a great passion. I live and work in Milan, where every day I continue my own research and the technical and stylistic experimentation following the tradition: my production has its roots in the history of the Made in Italy high quality handicraft and of the Italian culture. The mosaic is a language for me and is the filter to look at reality. From flooring and cladding, to reproductions of classical art and modern conception of original furnishings, to artistic and personal compositions: everything I do is always characterized by technical skill, refined sensibility and passion. My purpose is to bring back the art of mosaic from the baggage of ancient history and to make it up-to-date and modern.
