About The Artwork

I have always liked long hair. In the Bible, John recounts the story of a woman washing Jesus’s feet with her long hair. A sister of mine shared with me that she grew her hair long so that she could wipe Jesus' feet in the future. This memory and the quote from Matthew 10:30, "Even the hairs of your head are numbered,” inspires me to use this treasure in my art. I use my own hair to weave a web and try to mend the delusion of this broken world. I hope that when you see this work, you will be attracted by its clean and simple appearance. I hope you will be moved by the beauty of its sparse, dense, gathered, and scattered black and white lines. You may see a spider web or ripples. You may see it in black and white, which is associated with the keyboard of the piano, musical notes. I have also the made use of blank space associated with traditional Chinese ink paintings in this work.
