Self-taught, my name is Lapo and I am a young Italian sculptor. From my native Florence, a city bathed in the masterpieces of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, I have kept this curiosity of the eye, this sense of volumes and shapes, this need to touch the material. And one day I launched myself. In a great frenzy, I gleaned pieces of metal from left and right, fascinated by their brilliance and their history. I scoured attics and recycling yards until I had enough material to leave room for my imagination. By dint of welding, assembling, disassembling, questioning and polishing, my metal women were born under my fingers. From the ancient history of these metals, I have given them a new lease of life, a new cycle of life opens to them. I experiment day by day, and I know that I am only at the beginning of a great adventure.
