About The Artwork
This is a beautiful, life-sized dress that appears floaty and feminine despite its hard materials. White dress is a ready to hang sculpture that is at home indoors as it is out. Three frills are covered in shimmering, iridescent glass offset with matte white ceramics. A white plastic rose adds the finishing touch. The white on white palette lends understated elegance to this sophisticated and unusual fashion statement. White Dress is published in my book ‘Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic’ (Schiffer Publishing USA). It will be sent with a signed copy of the book plus a certificate of authenticity and a certificate of registration on the NRAA (National Registry of Australian Artists). The work comes ready to hang with D-rings and wire fitted. It will be shipped in a custom plywood box.

Artist Statement “When the paint is dry my work is just beginning”. The thought that paint could be capable of independence from the canvas has been the driving force behind Julee’s art practice. It led to her process of creating paintings on plastic waiting for the paint to dry before she removes it. The unsupported material has an inherent flexibility that allows Julee to investigate her interest in textile, collage, and sculptural techniques. Through cutting, layering, moulding, weaving, and gluing, each creation is the result of many hours of meticulous and detailed work. An artist since childhood, Julee holds a BFA (Sculpture and Painting) from Curtin University, Perth. She is also the author of the book Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic (Schiffer Publishing Ltd, USA). Her works can be found in collections, both public and private, worldwide.
