swarm #2 Sculpture

This work is inspired by the power of nature, here represented by casted, kilned and painted by hand ceramic snails that are taking over the deadened branch. I hope, that the viewers will feel the optimism of life overcoming death slowly but steady, like a snail’s slimey trail. Snails here might look ready-made, but in reality it’s quite the opposite. I chose the meticulousness of detailed handwork, because I believe that the physical contact of the artist with his piece brings not only conceptual, but actual impact to the work, creating a unique artist’s handwriting.
