Born in Paris, France, in 1983, lives and works in Marseille and in Paris, France. www.isabellevicherat.com / isabellevicherat@gmail.com I am a multidisciplinary artist graduated from the National Fine Arts School of Paris, France in 2009. Through video, installation and drawing, I develop a work which questions sometimes poetically and other times ironically, the human condition. With the desire to discover a part of my ancestry and to immerse myself in another culture, I have made several artistic projects in Armenia. My raw material is the observation of reality. I extract ordinary materials, fragments of bodies, gestures, everyday situations, memories, words of people and traditions to set up allegorical situations. I transform these bits of reality to move them and embody them into another dimension. Whether it is the existence of limits in ourselves and between us, the borders which gather the perceptible, the ineffable, the presence and the absence, I place myself at the crossroads of these fields to create echoes between the personal, the collective and the universal. Presented in France, in China, Nigeria, Armenia, Korea, Germany and Turkey, my works open up with simplicity to sensation, feeling, contemplation. They aim at establishing with the spectator the possibility of an intimate communion.
