The most interesting landscape on the earth is the human body and how the soft curves change by slightly altering a position. I am particularly fascinated by the shapes created when capturing the fleeting magic of a dancer caught in a moment of time. When creating in plaster for contemporary pieces, the medium dictates using tools so the form is simplified with no detail to make it timeless. In contrast when the sculpture is asking for detail, I use clay for the suppleness and delicacy and its willingness to be transformed into classical figures that come alive. Both plaster and clay sculptures are usually cast in bronze. I was born in London and live in Hertfordshire, UK.
