ABOUT

EXHIBITIONS

I am an artist working with people, forgotten spaces and abandoned materials (human and non-human) to start conversations about our relationships with each other, places we call home and the more-than-human world. A sense of place is a central theme in my practice which I use to explore the Earth Crisis and consequential collective and personal grief.

I use gentle processes that have a low impact on the natural environment and a positive impact on people. Outcomes are made with and intended for both human and non-human audiences:

Text-based videos projected onto landscapes

Circles of listening

Performances with pavement ‘weeds’ and house plants

Questions woven into netting - left in clearings inviting growing conversations with plants and human communities

Cyanotypes toned with local plants

Recorded bird song played to bird song

Performances by humans for non-humans

These dialogues explore the limitations of the human language. Each encounter aims to sit within the space between language, seeking more nourishing connections that include self, ecosystems and each other.
