Landia Davies is a contemporary South African bronze sculptor whose work explores the power of vulnerability, self-acceptance, and playfulness within complexity and adversity.
Her sculptures celebrate raw human emotion and the forging of individual identity with a spirit of curiosity and gentle defiance of tidy labels and categories.
Landia invites viewers to ask, “What is it?” — and to discover that defining the form is often less important than feeling its state of being. Gender and genus become secondary to presence, emotion, and connection.
Through stylised figurative forms and richly finished surfaces, her work balances strength and softness, humour and depth, encouraging reflection and empathy.
Landia lives and works in the seaside village of Pringle Bay in the Western Cape, South Africa.
