This collage artwork is part of an ongoing series begun in 2017. Unlike some contemporary collage artists my works in this genre do not attempt to convey any kind of social or political message. My aim is simply to create pasted paper artworks that are visually pleasant and imaginative colourful assemblages. My influences in this genre are the first collage artists of the early 20th century like Picasso, Braque, Juan Gris, Kurt Schwitters and contemporary artists like Cecil Touchon. This particular collage was directly inspired by a Cubist work of Picasso, ''Man with a Guitar, 1915-1916''. It is 16x12 inches---40.5cm x 30.5cm. It is a mixed media work done on 140lbs watercolour paper, consisting of acrylic, watercolour, marker, pasted found and hand-made papers and old photograph. The peculiar very colourful imagery conveyed here is bound to attract the curious attention of any viewer familiar with cubism. And once appropriately Matted and/or Framed by the Buyer, this Collage will be suitable to hang anywhere, either by itself or among other artworks.
