Art Description

Collage: Paint, Watercolor, Marker, Pencil on Paper, Other.

Paint on upcycled framed print.

After all the pathologising about our disorder, deficits, flaws, challenges, struggles as something to be 'intervened'; changed and improved, they somehow overlooked our beautiful autistic characteristics, identities and culture.

How would you feel if your neurology was described based on your difficulties, misinterpreting you completely, overlooking your abilities and worth?

Perhaps like a nappy. Something to poop in and throw away.

But not us! We put on our nappies, and pulled up our big brown socks and made the best of what we've got.

Our brilliant connection to ourselves and deep view of the world and unwavering focus to seek answers to the unknown, lead us to the shining diamonds within us all.

They don't know what we know.

Because we're actually autistic!
