About The Artwork
The following digital art has been inspired from the stories of ancient Indian civilization. I grew up hearing lot of mythological stories about what Indian civilization was. The colors which look tropical and the scenery reflects the overall geography of the subcontinent I come from. One such epic was of BHARATA, whose story is told, in part, in the Indian epic Mahabharata. It is said that Bharata conquered the entire subcontinent of India and ruled it peacefully and harmoniously in the 5th century CE, according to the Puranas (religious/historical texts). Bharatavarsha, then, was the name given to the land (the subcontinent of Bharata).
