Baroque fashion and the self-image of the nobility. Baroque fashion showcased opulence through voluminous skirts, luxurious fabrics, and intricate details. Fitted bodices, low necklines, and lavish accessories completed the look. Deep colors like red and gold, along with intricate patterns, symbolized wealth and status. Baroque fashion continues to inspire designers, capturing the era's grandeur and decadence. Depicting a female character wearing a baroque dress in Midjourney, a software that uses artificial intelligence to turn text into images, is easy. Unfortunately, it is often the case that standard faces appear, by which one immediately recognizes the use of Midjourney. However, if you give Midjourney the photo of a female person (and that's what I did), Midjourney makes a very interesting mixture out of it, which you can moreover influence by a parameter. The generated face can thus contain more or less facial features from the photo. The portrayed lady in baroque dress impresses with her very personal facial features and a variable facial expression, which one associates with the self-image of the nobility in the 17th century.

I am Luxembourg-born scientific illustrator and artist living in Hanover, Germany. For a couple of decades I was a copywriter for Honeywell Bull, Nokia and Siemens. Then I slowly slipped into computer graphics. I specialized in illustrating molecules and fullerenes for a long time. In 1988 I received a recognition of the Prix Ars Electronica for my graphic "Funnel". In 2023 I started doing AI illustrations. I live together with my partner Elke Leger, my favorite photo subject, and a turtle named George.
