About The Artwork

This is the fifth and last stage of the repetitive process (which I call evolutive repetitive art) with 36 repeats with slight to moderate changes. Evolutive repetitive art takes on a mesmerizing twist when the motif undergoes subtle yet distinct changes with each iteration. This unique approach, where portraits are not replicated identically but instead evolve incrementally, offers a fresh perspective on the subject. With each repetition, new insights emerge, unveiling the subject's nuances, emotions, and subtle transformations. The artistry lies in the artist's ability to capture these delicate variations, inviting the audience to delve deeper into the subject's essence. Through this captivating technique, repetitive art transcends mere replication, becoming a powerful exploration of the ever-changing human experience.

I am Luxembourg-born scientific illustrator and artist living in Hanover, Germany. For a couple of decades I was a copywriter for Honeywell Bull, Nokia and Siemens. Then I slowly slipped into computer graphics. I specialized in illustrating molecules and fullerenes for a long time. In 1988 I received a recognition of the Prix Ars Electronica for my graphic "Funnel". In 2023 I started doing AI illustrations. I live together with my partner Elke Leger, my favorite photo subject, and a turtle named George.
