About The Artwork

The visual impact of a female wearer combining a mixed reality headset with a helmet in her environment is striking, evoking a futuristic and cyborg-like aesthetic. This amalgamation of technology alters and structures her visual perception by simultaneously reducing and adding visible components. The reduction occurs as the headset obscures facial features and expressions, creating an air of anonymity and mystery. Simultaneously, the addition of the helmet introduces a new element, further transforming the wearer's appearance. The combined effect is a hybrid entity, embodying the merging of human and machine. The resulting visual spectacle conjures images of a cyborg, bridging the realms of physicality and digital augmentation. This unique combination captivates attention, prompting contemplation on the boundaries between human and technology, and igniting fascination with the possibilities of a technologically integrated future.

I am Luxembourg-born scientific illustrator and artist living in Hanover, Germany. For a couple of decades I was a copywriter for Honeywell Bull, Nokia and Siemens. Then I slowly slipped into computer graphics. I specialized in illustrating molecules and fullerenes for a long time. In 1988 I received a recognition of the Prix Ars Electronica for my graphic "Funnel". In 2023 I started doing AI illustrations. I live together with my partner Elke Leger, my favorite photo subject, and a turtle named George.
