About The Artwork

This digital photomontage seduces the viewer into a bygone era, infused with a gentle melancholy. Rendered in a warm sepia tone, the image presents a young woman lingering in an abandoned old building. In the center of the picture is the young woman, whose face is illuminated by a soft, diffused light. Her gaze is dreamy and lost in thought. The masonry itself bears the signs of time, with peeling plaster. Traces of decay and transience can be seen throughout the scene, but their dark beauty has a certain charm. The photomontage creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and timeless romance. It invites the viewer to dive into the world of the young woman and be enchanted by the familiar melancholy of this forgotten era. It is a print on fine, smooth woven fabric. It has a subtly textured, shiny surface. It is ready to hang.

Sabine Rudolph is a German artist who lives in southern Germany and whose art is appreciated by collectors worldwide. My paintings hang in private collections for example in Athens (Greece); Dubai (United Arab Emirates); Rome (Italy); Ballarat (Australia); Vienna (Austria); Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main (Germany); London (Great Britain); Zofingen (Switzerland); Nashua New Hampshire; Aurora IL; Denver CO; Los Angeles California; New York; Bothell, Washington; Sugar Land, Texas; Duluth, Minnesota (USA); Budapest (Hungary). I have been a painter with a focus on portraiture for many years. Since 2021 I am also engaged in digital art. This art direction is subject to the same compositional principles as in my painting. The special thing about my painting is the approach. I make photographic templates of people who are close to me or with whom I have been able to build a special relationship. In this way especially deep emotions are expressed. I use these photo templates and paint them as a second step. A further characteristic of my work is the light. On black canvases I paint only the light. The shadow is the black canvas that remains free. The reduction to the light makes the special attraction.
