About The Artwork
This work was inspired by my sister's cat, who I found sat on my book after I left the room, trying her best to look comfortable, whilst intentionally preventing me from picking my book back up. The actual cat in this piece is drawn from a photo of my cat, Quito, who has the perfected the "I'm ignoring you" facial expression, and continued to sit next to me with this expression, throughout my production of this piece. I hope viewers of this piece can join me in laughing at similar experiences they have had with their pets. I chose to use pencil on paper, as this is my favourite medium.
