Odin's lineage remains incomplete and difficult to trace; and if Odin is named the father of all the gods, they could be nothing but each of his facets, thus bearing different hypostases. If the Powers express themselves through any gift, it is everyone's responsibility and duty to glorify it by actively living one’s destiny, thus venerating the natural elements. Odin and the Mead of inspiration This myth indeed narrates the death of an omniscient and wise being created as a pledge of the peace sealed by Æsirs and Vanirs. Kvasir was going to teach the world wisdom to men. Here again, at the origin of the development of the science and poetry, lies the search for compensation, by a peace pact or a retribution.
