About The Artwork

My concept of multispace (polydimensionality) when we see the objects in time – they seem to be different but also seem to stay the same. But are they the same each new moment? When I was in army, I used to paint one landscape and horizon line from the roof. Evolutionary I`ve got more then 100 landscapes and horizon lines. But they were different: at day, at night, every season, every weather, every mood. Nothing stays the same.

I've been consciously drawing since I was 5. Started with Soviet and German tanks of WW2, going thoroughly in all the technical details. Then was graphically discovering Indians, rock-stars, motorbikes and eventually – the imagery of an artist, standing alone under moonlight on the empty street. 1982: entered the Kharkiv ART&Design Academy (majoring in Design). 1989: After serving in border troops changed my major to Graphics and Poster and became a fulltime artist. Joined the ”Litera A” (art-experience group) and the Union of Artists of the USSR. In the same year was my first major group exhibition in Moscow and London (political posters). 1990: participated “Dedication For Van Gogh” – the first major “Litera A” exhibition. 1991: graduated from Academy in Kharkiv and moved to USA and started studies at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where lived and worked until 1992 and emerged as an artist. Result: “Transcendental Travel” – personal exhibition with Jennifer Meriedeth. 1992 – 2010: worked for Playboy, Esquire and Ogonyok magazines (Moscow), Participated international exhibitions, art symposiums, plain airs. You can find my works in private, state and corporate collections in the USA, Germany, France, Russia, Poland, Japan, Belgium, etc. Some of them are under the link: www.alexeyborisov.com ...It seems to me that the artist is like God. God created our universe, our world. “Ail things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made”. (Bible, John 1:3). But artist creates his own world in his pictures. And in this action, he is like God. I create my world as well. There is no time, but always three important things: color, space and strong feeling. There are many interconnections, many meanings between those things. I don't think about what I will paint next. I only have feeling about it. And all the rest makes itself. Thanks God. I live in both worlds, in ours and in another one, which is whimsical and mysterious.
