The artwork depicts a solitary white house amidst a chaotic tangle of abstract shapes that might be inspired by the visual language of surrealism and the subconscious mind. The monochromatic palette and etching technique suggest influence from the works of artists like M. C. Escher, known for his intricate, mind-bending visuals. Viewers might feel a sense of disorientation juxtaposed with familiarity—the house represents the known, while the surrounding forms invite viewers to confront the unknown. The piece could evoke thoughts on the human condition, solitude, or the relationship between order and chaos. The choice of a stark, detailed etching style serves to highlight contrasts. The medium of etching allows for precise lines and rich textures, creating a dramatic interplay of light and shadow. The subject matter—ordinary life surrounded by surrealistic forms—may encourage viewers to consider the complexities of reality. The style aligns with a tradition of using surreal and abstract imagery to explore deeper truths, where the medium's limitations become strengths, focusing attention on form and detail. In essence, the artwork is a visual exploration of contrast and perception, urging a contemplative engagement with the piece's deeper symbolic meanings.

I explore the aesthetic of things through absurd, irony, abstract, and misplaced situations. In my early thirties, I joined the largest artistic avant-garde movement in the long history of the former Soviet Union. In St. Petersburg the group of artists founded the Society of Experimental Fine Arts and gave regular art exhibitions of a "new" art five years prior to the rise of Perestroika in the Soviet Union. Throughout the 1980's, my paintings were regularly shown at art exhibits. My artistic practice explores the conceptual aesthetic of things through absurd, irony and misplaced situations. It includes photo, painting, graphics, and sculpture. Since 2000s I have also been working in digital art and digital photography. Starting with raster images in Adobe Photoshop, vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator, and 3D objects in Maya/ 3ds Max, today I additionally use various text-to-image AI-driven art services like GAN & DALL·E 2 OpenAI for creating art works. My works are in Russian Museum (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), Museum of Nonconformist Art (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and private collections in Russia, Spain, USA, Israel, France. From March 2022 I’m based in Spain. Web site: https://serge-yablonsky.co/ Arte Laguna World artist profile: https://artelaguna.world/artist/yablonsky-sergey/
