I've been an artist at heart for as long I can remember... It's very difficult to talk about oneself, however, I'm sure you'd like to know where I come from, what I did, what I do, and what I plan to do in the future... First off, I graduated with an architecture degree from Venezuela's Central University (FAU-UCV) over 14 years ago. At the turn of the century, I found myself in New York, pursuing a Masters Degree in New Media (digital) Arts, at the Interactive Telecommunications Program of New York University. It was, needless to say, a life changing experience, not only for what I learned, for the friends I made, the things they taught me, and for all of the events that the beginning of this new century brought us, which have led me to see life with humility and sensibility, things I hope to portrayin my work. People ask me to define my work, I laugh at this and say Latin Pop with a twist. But seriously, I have many influences, some come from my Latin heritage, as does the use of color in my work. Other come from my training as an architect, where geometric patterns are prevalent, with a inevitable attraction towards the built environment and urban panorama, and a keen awareness of the fragility of the landscape, and how - for better or worse- we, common folk, affect it. I can't deny my love of photography, as well as a deep influence of formal arts, sketching and painting, aspects I try to exploit and develop, producing, a very personal, mish-mash style, that relates to my life's history and times.
