P.S. Emory or Philip Scott Emory is a visual artist based in Miami and the Florida Keys. Born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1976 this strangely quiet comfortable man with his almost "long lost" southern accent has gained years of abstract expression painting under his wing. Selling many pieces over the course of the years. Recently though Philip's body of work has changed, leaning towards illustrations and digital art, a more bold dip into this creative mind. " Sometimes when I'm creating my head rolls with the past. Dark, sometimes violent early childhood, or playful memories of my brothers, mistakes, or the wisdom gained from those mistakes, it's life and death, and suicide, and completely real." P.S. Emory's work wanders while he digs thru his psyche. Ideas turning back and forth like storms churning in the sea. Fliud like patterns, a scratchy line, a well shaded face, or just a bare spot. These things are just flowing through the artists extraordinary simple strategy to just create. In his own words of course he laughs all of this off. " I don't enter the working state with emotion, usually I'm pretty flat at the start, but when the first line is drawn....things change. The emotions just like the image starts with anything, anytime, anywhere organically my mind the cycle, or strategy of creativity is simply gathering information and then creating something from absolutely nothing." If you love the strange feeling that an artist actually gave some of their soul for the creative process. Share some of Mr. Emory's work, and let his emotions be seen, felt, and heard.
