About The Artwork
Diving from geometric to fluid, organic representation with cyanotype print. Used objects around the house to create prints, objects that are functional like gardeners hose pipe, dustbin cubicle, cleaning mop etc. This piece was dreamed about for my longing for the ocean, sea, water, rocks and salt. To travel post pandemic has been difficult, though scenes like these keeping popping up in my dream world and give me the sense of a place i would like to be in. i hope it invokes a sense of paradise within nature. an escape from the hustle of city life, into a tranquil visual overload of landscape and scenery.

Nanaki was born and brought up in New Delhi, after completing her undergraduate in Fine Arts from Lasalle College of the Art, Singapore she decided to take a break from art making, reconnecting with her practice after almost 6 years. Now she lives out of her studio (grandparents outhouse) and calls it her safe space for learning, creating and imagining. Her body forms the most integral part of her performance (painting) and being in touch with her feelings is key. She follows a movement of energy within her body which forms the starting point to her work. While producing she is in a constant state of flux, working on change - letting go of old belief systems, habits and patterns. Her approach is almost never planned, but a basic idea of colour, light and space is known through instinct and organic disorder.
