Thujiba Vijayalayan holds a BFA from the Ramanathan Academy of Fine Arts, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Thujiba is a national award winning (N.I.E Best Art Creator, 2019), upcoming visual artist and art educator based in Sri Lanka. Her work has been exhibited in galleries including the Colombo Art Binnale, Theertha Red Dot Gallery, Vibavi academy work shop and the Lionel Wendt Art Centre. Her Rio hotel artwork was exhibited in the Shadow Scenes group exhibition at the Cinnamon Colomboscope. Thujiba Vijayalayan’s works have appeared on Art Space (Sri Lanka) online exhibitions and her work is listed as part of the Imago Mundi Collection. ‘THE HUNT SERIES ’ was exhibited and sold via the Saskia Fernando Gallery. She has been described as a “weaver of inimitable intricacy” and the fine details in her artworks address current social realities in Sri Lanka.
