About The Artwork

Marilyn Monroe's haunting beauty and subtle wit inspired me to create the original analog charcoal portrait on paper as part of my “Before They Were Gone” series of portraits. The $195 Million sale of Andy Warhol's Marilyn inspired me to create this digital painting which incorporates my original analog charcoal portrait of Marilyn Monroe into a digital image that includes digitally generated text combined with digitally generated illustrations. I hope the viewers of this digital artwork will interpret the conundrum of the incorporation of my original analog charcoal portrait into a digital image with the message that will this digitally created artwork will not cost a collector $195 Million and that the artwork is no longer analog but digital!

Wife, mom, artist, graphic designer, bookworm! “Art brings people together.” With my paintings, I tell stories that cross traditional barriers such as gender, age, income, education & race to help us understand the most important art of all — "The art of being human.” "Every Painting Tells a Story." I love to paint people. The human face and figure is the most captivating subject for me. I enjoy painting the snippets of life. Capturing folks enjoying a summer afternoon in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia or children having summer fun in a city park. I paint everyday people and moments in life. The goal of my work is to make a connection with the viewer. I hope in some small way, my work sends a message out into the world. A message of hope, of change and of social justice. I hope, that when my art hangs in your home, it provokes thought and meaning to you. Awards • I am honored to have received a "Knight Foundation" cash honorarium in connection with the Free Library of Philadelphia's Cultureshare program. • Best Emerging Artist. 2019 Manayunk Arts Festival. • Honorable Mention. 2018 Manayunk Arts Center Annual Juried Show. • "Philadelphia Stories."
