This piece aims to cause tension amongst the subjects in the painting. The dramatic and aggressive angles make it exciting This series started out as wanting to show the dynamic relationships between predator and prey, some of which are examples of the natural order of life while others show compassion between the two. This one is of the natural order. The Mahi-Mahi is a beautiful fish with such bright colors. However as soon as it is killed, the dolphin loses it's color. Which is why it loses the pretty greens the closer it gets to the mouth of the shark. In this piece, as well as the rest in this collection, have a hidden scene. The purpose was to create another layer to the painting. I want the viewer to stop and look at everything that is happening in the painting, so creating a "where's Waldo" experience, I am able to achieve this.
