"Glass of Wine at March 20th" portrays two friends celebrating their friendship, freedom and a good glass of wine at the setting sun on early Spring. The first viewing plan is composed by the two naked women sitting on the grass, one facing her friend, the other facing the sun. A glass of red wine makes their moment enjoyable as they entangle in some relaxed conversation. The colors change from cold to warm, creating geometrical shapes of shade and light. The second viewing plan is about a warm depth, as the sunset on the horizon glazes at the sea and a stairway goes down into the beach. The inspiration came from the southern beaches of Portugal, celebrating freedom and the sacred feminine in Nature. This painting resulted from the fragmentation of the forms through figurative abstract and geometric color shapes.

Portugal
I’m a furniture designer and artist based in Gondomar, neighbour to the city of Porto (Portugal). I attended Fine Arts Academy of Porto University (FAUP) and Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), where my journey led me to design. Yet... Art in the form of drawing and painting was always with me since my early days in life. As a designer and artist I try to commit my knowledge and creativity to develop meaningful products. With this passion comes the responsibility to bring together the process of creation (such as art making) with the continuous humble learning. My ideas or concepts lead me to oil and acrylic painting, where I intend to celebrate life, Nature motifs and the sacred feminism, through the exploration of abstract and geometric color shapes. I work and paint at home and to me it takes long time to reach the results that I have imagined, for there is always place to enjoy the work in progress and change some shapes or colors. Its like a never ending personal dialogue with the process of creating.
