About The Artwork

Hi everyone, This Painting is special as I have used it for my Album cover of "A portrait of Vangelis" the album I released in Feb 2020 A portrait of Vangelis is part of an ongoing collection of works where I create original music to compliment my Paintings and vice versa, among this collection I have chosen to tune in and capture the spirit, essence & energy of other Great Artists who have inspired my own imagination and creativity while pushing boundaries creating new ideas and material at the same time. I Have included notes from my Release below with links. This Painting 1 metre square is currently hanging on my Living room wall and i hope to find it a good home sometime soon. I have taken photos using Natural Daylight 5400K Lighting and Sony Alpha Digital Camera in the Highest Quality using a 30mm prime lense. I have many other photos available on request and happy to discuss in more detail if required, the price reflects the amount of time & love spent and attention to detail but also the connection it has with the Album. The Canvas is a 1 metre square boxed Frame canvas, the Painting is Acrylic, the Spacey background was done freehand airbrush and then I painted vangelis with brushes. best wishes & love jamie Full Album Playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list... Hello wonderful people, thanks for your interest. A portrait of Vangelis is part of an ongoing collection of works where I create original music to compliment my Paintings and vice versa, among this collection I have chosen to tune in and capture the spirit, essence & energy of other Great Artists who have inspired my own imagination and creativity while pushing boundaries creating new ideas and material at the same time. Here I respect and pay homage to Vangelis, I do not claim to be reproducing exact sounds or music Vangelis has made yet there will be similarities as this is a Musical and Artistic Portrait. All of my music melodies, vocals and instruments used are of my own accord and what feels right to me with much emphasis on the feeling; I Suppose one could see this Portrait as tuning into an alternate dimension. Alike Vangelis I also believe that we are conduits for the Music of the Universe to flow through us, and when open to possibilities in the moment or the flow state, imagination is infinite; Creativity is a beautiful gift. Throughout this Album I have tried to cover most of the different Genres which Vangelis has produced over the years, these include Soft and Gentle, Soulful, Romantic and Ambient Music, Electronic Soundscapes, World Music, Experimental, Avant-Garde, Ballad, Jazz, Classical & Orchestral Compositions with a few songs very usable for Soundtracks. All of which I have Heartfully made. Some of the songs you will notice similarities for example, Track 9 "Nine = everything & Nothing" This reflects my Love for Spiral. As a Child growing up in the 80's I was mesmerized by his swirly Spacey Synth sounds (: What other Vangelis or other influences in my work shall you notice? I have been working on this Album Since our Son was born back in July 2019 and alongside other projects and family commitments it has been quite a challenge, yet healthy and enjoyable. Track 8 "All My love" I Dedicate to My Son, Theodore Zen Zarfas. I work solo in my private studio and with the exception of a couple of vst's most of the sounds and master processing come from equipment which I own; Drums, Synths, Piano or my guitars, my vocals and some of my own samples such as rain, hand percussion etc. Rhythm sections I made using various drum machines programmed and later rearranged elements or played in real time with Roland V Drums, also with main piano/synth sections I try to record the main sections and overall feel in real time where possible keeping the music organic, other sounds, fx, or guitars I overdub. The Synths I use are mostly analogue or digital hybrids. I also used the fretless Fender Jazz Bass, Styles Influenced from Jaco Pastorius. As with most of my music I tune & record my instruments in 432hz and have also incorporated some geometry into this album. The Painting is based on a popular pose yet done in my own style, it was painted using Acrylic/water based paints on a Large Box Canvas 1x1 meter square, the background was Airbrushed freeform also from imagination with added brush detailing, Photographs were taken in 4K+ resolution using natural lighting and this enables me to use it for the Album Art; There are more photos available if anyone is interested in prints or investing in the original. If You like what I have created then it would mean a great deal to me if you can support my hard work by purchasing the Album Via the Links above, as of now I get very little for streams. A Portrait of Vangelis is available for purchase on most of the main Retail Music Platforms so whichever is best for you. The Downloads will be in 320kbps MP3. Physical Discs are also available on request along with limited edition prints in custom sizes of the painting, More info can be found on my facebook page, For now I may be contacted via https://www.facebook.com/JamieZarfasM... or email jamie.zarfas@hotmail.co.uk I hope you enjoy my project and thanks for your time and interest.
