About The Artwork

In todays feminism, all women face their own challenges in different directions and we should face them with a strong face but also remember to hold each others hands and remember we are all connected in one big fight. I hope this painting can capture the sisterhood all women of the world are a part of and inspire both a strength and softness in our struggles. Håll varandra om ryggen damer! Part of a series of paintings called "A(r)mor" A(r)mor is a study of the mystery of womanhood. The contrast between power and softness. Mother meets fighter. Lover meets goddess. The delicate nature of a hidden fierce creature. Both feather and hammer in one body. The female shell, her body, is both an armor and the alluring song of a siren. As natural beauty of soft curves invite you in they double as an armor to keep you out. The gaze of her eyes, a gun. The shape of her body, a womb. With no clothing to protect, I want to show in full strength the uncompromised female beauty and power.

Born and raised in the open landscape of Skåne, Sweden. Daugther of a Swedish mother and a Bajan father. Sweden gives me an appreciation for the shifting experiences of the North. Darkness and light forever changing back and forth. Barbados gives me a love for the ocean, close-ness to nature and a helluva lot of cousins. I am living and working in French seaside town Biarritz.
