About The Artwork

While working on my Abstractions vegetal series I wanted to start from elements of the vegetal world to arrive at forms which, viewed from a distance or in the whole composition, become abstract. The climbing or creeping plants, the ivy, the weed, the brambles, the quack, the dandelion, the thistle and the bindweed of the fields invade the space insidiously, by softness or aggressively, with wrinkles, bumps, Interlacing, accolements, cracks, and sliding the painted figures towards the abstract. It is the curves, the lines, the vegetable textures, the colors that bring the whole towards abstraction; our imagination then transports us to fragile, luxuriant, soft and complex regions. Evolving from the vegetal figure and freely reworking its forms: this is the new concept that leads me towards abstraction. Giving body and matter to the invasion of the plant is also reversing the situation: the human has appropriated nature by seeking to destroy or domesticate it. He has long forgotten that he is part of that nature. These invasive plants take back their living space; like humans, they can indeed live in a hybrid space by adapting to any seemingly hostile environment.
