Alone, Lifeless, Corpse walking dead Print

This work was inspired by my husband, who loves the horror theme paintings, but is not necessarily a great horror film lover. Quite the contradiction. I absolutely love this piece as to me it conveys, the reality of death and decay. However with this reanimated dead corpse, there is a feeling of fear and terror, for if i was to see such an entity standing before me, it would provoke great fear and anxiety. To me this dead corpse, who was a living woman before she became this image of horror, portrays, a sense of aloness and loneliness the same. One can almost see the despair in her face. One may try and perhaps succeed, in empathizing with the loneliness, the isolation, the drifting endlessly through life, which has ceased to exist, for she is no longer alive, yet still animated.Where would one go, how would one connect with others, a sense of total isolation is suggested with this image. This trigger, feelings of fear of abandonment perhaps, or even the fear experienced by lack of human contact, of love, understanding, affection. What a horrifying existence it would be, if one could live this state experiencing such feelings and yet feelings are not a reality in this dead, decaying form. This image to me, invokes sadness, fear, despair, shock and most of all horror.
