"I imagined a Batman at a time of day when he is not busy saving anyone, but rather smoking a cigarette and relaxing, perhaps sitting in a bar, as suggested by the position of his body, his posture within the painting." The language of this portrait is a fast, quick, instantaneous language. To give -almost- the idea of a painting born in an instant of overwhelming inspiration. The squillant use of color is meant to emphasize the more vibrant aspect of the composition and at the same time give a sense of strength to the painted character.
