Bellerophon's Melancholia Print

This painting is based upon the Greek Myth of Bellerophon. The delicate, tousled nature of the flowers are a reflection of the painfully beautiful and sensitive melancholia that overtook his thoughts as the heroic tragedy came to an end. I am endlessly inspired by the ancient walls of Europe, the stories they tell and the layers of history that they display. My paintings, like the walls, through markings and faded colors, create a sense of comfort and meaning that the surroundings of the past deliver to the soul.
