BERLIN MINIMALISM is created with gentle gestural strokes, giving it S. Mangelsen's very personal touch of jazzy elegance, rhythm and finesse. In its simplicity of an understated, subtle palette of beige, sand and grey tones resourced by vivid light blue, combined with the energy of bold spate strokes, it embraces a dialogue toward lightness, minimalism and introspection. ____________________________________________________________________________ Signed, dated on the back, colored on the edges, framed with a natural basswood frame and ready to hang. S. Mangelsen’s oil works are in high quality oil technique on gallery quality canvas and wooden stretched frames, carefully protected by special varnish to guarantee a long life and protect the painting from UV rays and dust. + Certificate of Authenticity Worldwide Shipping Berlin, 2021

Sophie Mangelsen creates her very own and characteristically gestural abstractions, giving them her very personal touch of elegance, rhythm and finesse, all in a Berlin understatement vibe. Her informal art appeals to introspection and evokes an inner and outer dialogue with the viewer - posing questions about consciousness and unconsciousness, harmony and disharmony, balance and imbalance - to inner landscapes of the complexity of our mind. Sophie Mangelsen, from Berlin, is additionally inspired on her journey by her experience as a psychologist and therapist. She studied at the Université Paris VIII and the University of Leipzig and found her form of expression in painting already in her youth. Her paintings are shown at international exhibitions and are in private collections around the world. In 2022 she was invited as a jury member in the international competition of BALTHASART. The artist lives in Berlin Kreuzberg.
