About The Artwork

One of my favorite characters is the black stork.Black stork - a totem of the continuation of life, a symbol of wisdom and the fragility of the world - a subtle element of the ornament in the "big article". Storks have two houses - Latvia and South Africa. The cultures of these countries are so different, yet in the "book of the world" they are close and united. In the creative process, the artist has combined the incomparable - painting with graffiti, details of street aesthetics with elements of Latvian ethnography - threes and the image of the ancient bride of Kurzeme in a crown of sequins. The painting was exhibited in a solo exhibition at the Liepaja Art Museum in Latvia in 2021. https://kalendars.liepaja.lv/en/2021-06-17:35284:161890/

I am influenced by the ancient Dogon culture in Africa and the spirit of Latvian Suiti, I am inspired by the image of a black woman in the contemporary art. I write my big world stories with lines, colors and collages from personal clothes. My own story about the little white woman the bearer of the Eastern European genetic code. She knows what the KGB interrogation was and what the diamonds are, she has no pragmatism. She can clean the potatoes and dream of love at the same time. The question is – what the world is now? Everything is changing. Traditions are collapsing and the big role of a woman – to be a mother, wife- is losing its relevance. There are already so many people on this planet. My heroines, like birds – Phoenix – shrink to ashes, unfulfilled sexuality to be reborn in a new image, in new Goddesses.
