Harold Acker (Born c. 1900; Died 1982) was a house painter by day and self-taught artist by night. These 2 pieces are painted in oil and "house paint". The self taught artist was able to create these colorful expressions of his hometown farmland that depict Americana in nostalgic and color filled realms. Both are Oil and House Paint on Masonite with their original frames. They are in excellent condition with bright, rich color. Each is signed and titled. Harold Acker died in 1982 in East Troy, Wisconsin. These are two of the eight paintings he left behind. All eight were originally acquired from his widow and kept by a private collector in Florida until 1999. "By The Basket" - Babe's Grocery store in Waukesha County; Kneeland WI - circa 1925
