Inside the shape of the two dogs (Guides to the souls of the dead), you will find the representation of the nine rivers that must be crossed in order to reach Mictlan. It all starts in the place where the dog resides and begins by crossing where the mountains crashed into each other, climbing the obsidian Mountain, then, crossing the frozen landscape, getting through the valley of the strong gales, avoiding getting hit by arrows and going around the heart eating jaguar and the black waters where Xochitonal the giant iguana inhabits to finally reach Mictlan.
