The myth of the Titanomachy describes a ten-year battle between the old gods, the Titans, and the new gods, the Olympians, which was ultimately won by the Olympians. Here, contemporary figures reenact this drama, playing the roles of the Titan Cronus with his beard and sickle, struggling against his Olympian children, Zeus and Hera. The conflict takes place amidst a contemporary wildfire scene with a firefighter retreating from the mounting flames. This ancient tale thus evokes new symbolism in an age of intergenerational strife amidst a changing climate. The piece comes with a beautiful custom wooden frame hand-picked by the artist. It is a brown and black frame with beautiful wood grain that fits well with the style of the painting. It has been hand-buffed with finishing wax by the artist to bring out the wood grain.  The painting is created on hand-prepared dibond panel, a substrate comprised of aluminum and polyethylene with two types of acrylic gesso applied by the artist.
