In the frenetic rhythm of our lives, it's essential to seek moments of stillness to discover beauty and depth amidst the constant flow of existence." - Umberto Eco. My painting depicts people running synchronously in a landscape that aims to be emotional rather than physical. The characters' nude bodies contrast with the damp environment, suggesting a tension between nature and humanity. The central theme of the artwork is the accelerated pace of time. The characters run without a clear goal but with a distinct sense of haste. This sense of hurry and urgency symbolizes the rapid speed at which we live in modern society. The lack of a defined direction in the characters' race reflects the feeling of being trapped in a temporal spiral. The painting captures the sensation that time moves at an inexorable rhythm, not allowing us to pause and reflect on our actions and choices. The characters' nude bodies symbolize our vulnerability and exposure to the passage of time. Moreover, the contrasting temperature between the bodies and the landscape suggests an internal conflict between calm and chaos, control and the unpredictability of time. The artwork also invites us to question the notion of time as a linear and progressive entity. Instead of an orderly sequence, it appears that time interlaces and overlaps, creating a sense of timelessness. This challenging representation of time leads us to reflect on our own existence and how we relate to time in our lives.
